Beget

The village of Beget, is a village of Garrotxa with own municipality until 1969, when it was added to the municipality of Camprodon. Its stone houses cluster around the stream of Beget. There stands out  the Romanesque church of Sant Cristòfol XII century.

It was built around a disappeared Benedictine monastery , the church is their only reference. From only Nave, apse with Lombard arches and large window, door decorated with two columns and arches in gradation, and bell tower of 22 meters high, with a square base and four floors.

Inside it is venerated the famous majesty of Beget: image of Christ (Divine Majesty), carving of the twelfth century, with tunic and crown to toe, which presides over the high altar.

The church has a single nave, reinforced by toral arches, large, given the demographics of the region. It retains all altars, altarpieces and images that were saved from the ravages of 1936.
